Interactive Brokers Q3: accounts +35% but equity per account fell ~6% to ~$173K
Interactive Brokers ($IBKR) reported Q3 on Thursday: accounts up 35% to 5.58 million and customer equity up 27% to $964.7 billion. It also raised its dividend from $0.0875 to $0.15.
My math: equity per account slipped from ~$183.7K to ~$173.1K, about 6% lower. New accounts are coming in smaller, which helps explain revenue growing only 16%.
