Disc Medicine ($IRON) is up 37.72% at midday Monday after a Phase 3 win, while memory-chip names led a broad AI rebound. The S&P 500 is +0.82% and the Nasdaq is +1.65%.

  • Disc Medicine (+37.72%, $2.97B market cap): The Phase 3 APOLLO trial of bitopertin, developed with Roche, met all primary and secondary endpoints in erythropoietic protoporphyria. The company plans an FDA New Drug Application by end of 2026, with potential US approval by mid-2027.
  • Sandisk (+7.05%, $202.0B) and Micron (+4.64%, $1.045T, among the most active): Both are rebounding after last week's memory-chip selloff, in which SanDisk fell 13% and Micron fell 11%. Investors are buying the dip.
  • Semiconductors: The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index is positioned to end an eight-session losing streak, its longest in 18 years. This follows the S&P 500 and Nasdaq's biggest weekly drop since late June. Easing oil prices and Treasury yields are adding to the risk-on tone.
  • Breadth: Technology leads sectors at +2.25%. The semiconductor basket is +2.88% with 9 of 11 names higher, and LRCX is +5.13%. Utilities lag at -1.58%, with all 10 basket names lower and CEG down 2.33%.

The session shows capital moving out of defensives and back into semiconductors. The open question is whether the SOX rebound holds past one day after an eight-session slide.
