$UBER daily pick: starter buy, add down to $62

$UBER: I'm buying a starter here and I'd add down to $62.

As of midday today ($68.74):
7% below the 200-day and 31% off the 52-week high
About 15.5x next year's EPS estimate with a 7% free cash flow yield
Gross bookings still growing 22%
The CEO bought $10M of stock at $70.96 last month

I think the robotaxi fear is mostly priced in because Uber is still growing over 20% and throwing off $10B a year in free cash flow while it lines up AV partners.

Would you buy Uber here or do you think robotaxis cut it out?

Why now? The stock has been stuck between $65 and $82 since February and it's back near the bottom of that range. The CEO paid $70.96 for 141,000 shares on Sep 10 and Andrew Macdonald bought 70,000 at $75.83 the week before. I'm getting a better price than both of them.

Bear case: Waymo is ending its exclusive deals with Uber in Atlanta and Austin by early 2028 and sells more rides on its own app. Uber plans to commit $10B+ to robotaxis and Chinese rivals are spending hard in Brazil. If AVs cut out the middleman this stays cheap.

Catalyst: Q3 earnings Nov 4. They guided non-GAAP EPS of $0.84 to $0.88 and gross bookings of $58.25B to $60.25B. I also want to hear how many robotaxi cities they're live in since they're targeting up to 15 by year end.

What I'd watch: a close back above the 200-day ($74) tells me the sellers are tired. A weekly close under the April 2025 low ($60.63) means I'm wrong and I'd step aside. Street target is about $105 with 52 Buys and 11 Holds for what it's worth.
