@AnthropicAI just made its IPO filing public. $16.3B in revenue next to an $80.7B loss in just six months.
It plans to list on the @Nasdaq as $ANT with @GoldmanSachs and @MorganStanley leading. Per @CNBC marketing could start the week of Nov 9.
Revenue was up from about $1.2B a year earlier. Anthropic told investors Q3 alone hit $16.8B.
About $72B of that loss is a non cash charge tied to convertible notes. The real cost is compute: about $9B on infrastructure in six months plus hundreds of billions in cloud deals.
Five customers make up about a quarter of revenue and the filing says its governance has "no direct public company precedent."
Bankers are reportedly aiming for $1.5T to $2T. That's roughly 22x to 30x revenue. I think the loss headline is mostly noise because it's accounting. What I'd watch is whether revenue keeps outgrowing the compute bills.
Would you buy $ANT at $2T?
The quick version in two pics: $16.3B revenue in six months, a mostly non cash $80.7B loss and a $2T target. Would you buy $ANT at that price?
